The Winter Session of the Rhine Education Center
 The Rhine Education Center (www.rhineeducationcenter.org) presents two popular courses beginning the end of January, 2014.  This unique opportunity is designed to provide professional education in the field of Parapsychology for those who have a curiosity about the field and those who are interested in a professional educational experience.


Field Investigations: Investigating Apparitions, Hauntings, and Poltergeists
with Loyd Auerbach

This 8 week course is designed as an overview to introduce students to the methodologies of parapsychologists specifically with regard to the spontaneous occurrence of psychic experiences as they occur outside laboratory settings, with a main focus on cases of reported Apparitions, Hauntings and Poltergeists. Attendees will gain an understanding of the very basic skills and needed for investigation of ghosts, poltergeists, haunted places and related psychic experiences. The class will include:

    • The conceptual models of the phenomena,
    • How the scientific and psychic approaches can mesh together, and
    • How to assess a situation, investigate it, and resolve the case to the satisfaction of the people having the experiences.

January 27 – March 17; one class per week for 8 weeks
What Time: 
Classes will be broadcast each Monday from 6:00pm –8:00pm Eastern US Time, and they will be recorded for later viewing if you cannot attend the class live.
Where: 
Since this is an online course, you can access the class from any computer that has a viable internet connection and meets the minimum system requirements.
Prerequisites: 
None required, but Introduction to Paraspsychology is suggested.
Cost:
$199 per person.
$179 Rhine Research Center member or student enrolled in a degree program.

An Introduction to Parapsychology
with Nancy L. Zingrone & Carlos S. Alvarado
(Beginning January 29th. Watch the classes live or view the recordings at your convenience.)
 
This unique eight week course will be broadcast live on Wednesday evenings, but many students choose to watch the recordings of the classes if they cannot attend them live. The first broadcast will be on Wednesday, January 29th, 2014 at 8:00pm, and the course continues through Tuesday, March 25th, 2014. In this course students will be introduced to the topics that are studied by professional parapsychologists. Topics will include an overview of the phenomena (Telepathy, Clairvoyance, Precognition, Psychokinesis, and Survival Issues), history, research methodologies and researchers that make up the vibrant field of scientific parapsychology. The course textbook is Introduction to Parapsychology, 5th edition by Harvey Irwin and Carline Watt. Besides the weekly class broadcasts, there is an online discussion forum for students to share their ideas, answer questions about the lectures, and communicate with the instructors. 
 
This 8 week online introductory course is appropriate for the casual student or for a professional who would like to understand more about the science of parapsychology and the research work done in the field.
